MUSIC MOUNTAIN THEATRE PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS!

Since our inception, Music Mountain Theatre has focused on our commitment not only to quality theater, but to arts education. We take pride in not only the family environment we create for our young performers, but the school we have created for them to learn, grow, and express themselves.
Last year, Our Board of Directors decided to go one step further by creating our Theater Scholarship, giving our graduating seniors yet another opportunity to rely on us for support as they take the next steps in their lives.
Winners are eligible for a $1000 scholarship to the school they are attending or a gift card to LaDuca’s in New York City, where they can purchase the perfect shoe to help them dance into their future!
Anna Hentz, the chair of the Board’s Scholarship Committee, said “The MMT Scholarship is our way of inspiring young artists to pursue their dreams.” The Scholarship Committee works hard to set up the requirements for the scholarship. Once all applications have been received, they are reviewed according to a rubric given out with the essay prompt.
Eligible applicants may be a senior at any high school senior who has participated in some capacity at Music Mountain Theatre from ninth to twelfth grade. The factors taken into consideration for awarding the scholarship are individual experience, motivation, and written expression.
This will be our second year awarding the scholarship. Past winners include Olivia Frankenbach and Travis Gawason, two familiar faces at MMT. They gave us video updates at our 2022 Gala and Mountie Awards, telling us how they are doing at college and how much their scholarships have helped them transition into their new theatrical homes.
As the years progress, the Scholarship Committee hopes to be able to raise more funds so that more than two scholarships can be awarded. In order to do that, we ask the community for donations to support our young artists as they take their next steps toward seeing their names in lights!
