Theatre Should Be Accessible for All!
Learn more about American Sign Language (ASL) Performances, Sensory-Friendly Performances, and Handicap Accessibility at Music Mountain Theatre.
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE (ASL) INTERPRETED PERFORMANCES
ASL interpreters are located near the stage for patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing, seated in an area of the theater that gives the best sight lines to follow the interpretation and the action on stage.
UPCOMING ASL-INTERPRETED PERFORMANCES
There are no upcoming ASL-Interpreted performances at the moment. Please check back at a future date!
SENSORY-FRIENDLY PERFORMANCES
Sensory-Friendly Performances, sometimes called Relaxed Performances, provide a sensory-friendly, judgment-free zone where all are welcome to be who they are. Various adjustments will be made to ensure that individuals with high sensitivity and those with ADD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), dementia, learning differences, or other sensory sensitivities, as well as younger children or anyone who would benefit from a relaxed environment, can enjoy the magic of live theatre with their families and friends.
WE WELCOME ALL TO THIS NON-JUDGMENTAL ENVIRONMENT IN A ‘NO-SHUSH ZONE' WHERE YOU WILL FIND:
-
Lower sound levels, especially for startling sounds.
-
Warnings for scenes or moments that might be unexpected or unsettling.
-
Guests are welcome to vocalize and move in the theatre venue as needed.
-
A quiet space will be provided in our lobby with staff members available.
-
Guests are welcome to bring their own fidget and stress sensory toys, electronics, or noise-canceling headphones. They can also borrow those that will be available.
-
Our staff and volunteers, who have been trained to be aware of and accommodate families’ needs, will be available throughout the theatre and the lobby during the entire performance.

HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY
Our theatre offers ample handicapped parking and seating. Assistive listening devices are available for patrons who are hard of hearing to assist with amplification and clarity of the performance.
