MMT Company Spotlight: Meet Regina Mercadante

Hailing from right here in Lambertville, Regina learned about Music Mountain Theatre from her work colleague, Jenn Hsiao, an MMT company member whose family has been involved with us since our days back at the Washington Crossing Open Air Theatre. Jenn encouraged Regina to come audition for us in 2018 and she was then cast to be part of her first production with us at MMT as a Pick-A-Little lady in The Music Man!
Outside of performing with us at Music Mountain Theatre, Regina works for ETS as a Director of Product Operations for an English language assessment. She is also an Army Veteran who enjoys taking care of her two horses, and training her cattle-dot mix, “Top”.
When she is not on the MMT stage, you can sometimes find Regina upstairs running lights, or assisting us backstage, and most recently helping in our lobby during the children’s theatre auditions. During the holiday season, she can even be seen around New Hope or Lambertville singing Christmas Carols with us at tree lighting ceremonies and other events. We can always count on Regina to lend a helping hand where needed around MMT!
When asked what the best thing is about MMT, Regina responds that it is “The feeling of being part of a large and loving extended family.” Her biggest takeaway from working with us at Music Mountain Theatre? “That nothing is impossible…even magic…when you have the love and support of people who share a common dream.”
Regina’s favorite role that she has tackled to date has been playing Rosie in Mama Mia, and she dreams of one day playing Miss Mona-Best in the Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Our recent production of Hello Dolly is her favorite show she has seen at Music Mountain so far.
We are so glad that one of our company members was able to get Regina to sign up for an audition back in 2018, and that she is now joining us as a company member herself for our 2024 season! Be sure to come catch Regina in our current running production Murder on the Orient Express, playing on weekends through April 28!
