Company Spotlight: CALEB DUFFY

Company Spotlight: Meet Caleb Duffy!

Caleb first came to hear about Music Mountain Theatre while working with one of our company members on a production of Urinetown. We at MMT happened to be looking for additional actors for Hairspray during our inaugural season. He submitted an audition video and was cast to join the show just before rehearsals started. Caleb has been part of every MMT season since, performing in over 16 shows on our stage and has also assisted with running sound as part of the tech crew on several productions as well.

When asked about his time with Music Mountain Theatre so far, Caleb notes, “My favorite roles to date have been Don in A Chorus Line and the Doctor/Escapeologist in Matilda!” Caleb’s dream roles include too many to name, but a few on the top of the list are Moritz in Spring Awakening and Dr. Pomatter in Waitress. His favorite MMT production that he wasn’t in? Noises Off!

Caleb says that his biggest takeaway from working at MMT has been learning to trust the process! “With such a short rehearsal time compared to other theatres, it was unexpected to be performance ready so quickly, but there’s such a professional atmosphere here.” He adds, “Everyone works so hard to get these shows up and running.” In his opinion the best thing about being involved with Music Mountain Theatre is the community, noting “I have felt welcomed since my first show with MMT.”

Outside of MMT, Caleb loves to travel and Disney! He collects tons of Disney items and he and his husband plan to travel to all of the world’s Disney parks by the end of the decade…only four left to get to! He also enjoys Broadway shows, having seen over 40 total productions! Caleb works as a Sales Support Specialist at Singer Equipment, is a proud uncle to 8 nieces and nephews, and has three cats at home with his husband, Todd.

We are so happy that Caleb submitted his video audition for Hairspray during our first season and has remained part of the family here at MMT ever since! You can catch Caleb in our final performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie today, and look for him later this season in A Christmas Carol!
