Celebrating our 5th Season with the annual Mountie Awards!

Music Mountain Theatre in Lambertville, N.J., celebrated its fifth full season with the Annual Mountie Awards Celebration on Saturday, January 7.

The theatre welcomed over 170 patrons for its Annual Awards. Subscribers, performers, and patrons were all in attendance to pose on the red carpet and enjoyed cocktails and desserts before the awards portion of the evening began, which also included select performances from the 2022 season.

Producing Director Ginny Brennan along with Artistic Directors Jordan Brennan and Louis Palena kicked off the evening by welcoming and thanking everyone who continues to make each season at Music Mountain Theatre a success.

“In The Heights” was the big winner of the evening, taking home the award for Best Musical, along with Tristan Takacs winning Best Actor in A Musical for his portrayal of Usnavi, Liz Gonzalez earning Best Guest Director, and Gavin Prikril, the youngest award winner of the night, accepted the Outstanding Youth Performance Mountie for his performance in the production as Sonny.

The Best Play award was presented to the cast and crew of “Noises Off”, with the cast of “The Producers” earning Best Ensemble of the season.

Best Actress in a musical was won by Jill Gibilisco (“Thoroughly Modern Millie”), with Lauren Brader (“Noises Off”) and Patrick Lavery (“Moon over Buffalo”) taking home trophies for Best Actress and Actor in a play. The awards for Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a musical went to Bill Weir (“The Sound of Music”) and Molly Chase (“A Christmas Story”).

Music Mountain Theatre’s 2023 season is currently underway with Ain’t Misbehavin’ playing on the MainStage through January 29, and The Snow Queen’s Frozen Adventure opening on January 21 for young audiences.

It’s wonderful that “In The Heights” won Best Musical at this year’s Mountie Awards, especially with such a talented young performer in the cast. If you’re preparing video highlights from the ceremony, you can convert srt to vtt to ensure the captions work smoothly across different platforms. That makes it easier for more audience members to follow along with the speeches and performances.

This celebration of the Mountie Awards truly highlights the community spirit fostered over five seasons! It reminds me of the level challenges in Geometry Dash —both require creativity and resilience. Perhaps incorporating audience input for future awards could deepen that connection even more!

I like that this reads like a true season recap, not just a list of trophies — the cocktails/desserts and red carpet detail makes it easy to picture the night. Jill Gibilisco winning for “Thoroughly Modern Millie” is a fun pull too; that show demands a ton from the lead. Unrelated but it popped into my head: awards night prep always makes me think of last-minute outfit decisions, like the sort of rabbit hole I fall into on StyleLookLab before an event.

The awards list makes me want a little “where are they now” follow-up — especially for the performers who won in plays versus musicals, since those are such different muscles. Also, “Noises Off” and “Moon over Buffalo” being in the mix screams “we had a strong comedy season,” which I’m into. Total aside: I’ve been turning photos into art lately and stumbled on a Ghibli-style photo converter, which feels like the same kind of playful celebration vibe.
