 Volunteers

Volunteers are welcomed and considered an essential part of the Music Mountain Theatre team.   We are grateful that you have decided to dedicate your time and talent to Music Mountain Theatre.

The following volunteer positions are available with Music Mountain Theatre:

Usher (Tickets) - Provide excellent customer service and aide to our patrons upon their arrival.  Direct patrons to Box Office or Will Call for tickets.  Collect tickets at theatre entrance doors and check each ticket to ensure it is the correct date and time.   Ensure theatre policies regarding food/drink are adhered to.  Direct patrons to correct Seating Usher.  Ticket Ushers must remain at their post for ½ hour after show time to accommodate any late arrivals.

Usher (Seating) - Provide excellent customer service and aide to our patrons upon their arrival, during the show and as they depart the theatre.  Hand out programs and assist patrons with finding their seats.  Seating Ushers must remain at their post for ½ hour after show time to accommodate any late arrivals.  Depending on the show, there will be instructions given regarding when and where late-comers may be seated. Throughout the show, ushers should continuously monitor the audience for anyone taking pictures, video, on cell phones or eating/drinking inside the theatre.   If you see someone violating house rules, politely ask them to stop and inform them that it is not allowed.  Report continued infractions to house management.

Concession - Sell concessions before the show and during intermission. Must be able to make change quickly and must be friendly and helpful to patrons.  Instructions about specific concession inventory and prices will be given during the pre-show meeting.

Backstage Parent/Child Wrangler – Supervise children backstage during dress rehearsals and performances.  Sign children in at arrival and out at end of performance.  Monitor behavior, keep noise level down, keep kids occupied during downtime, assist with costumes, props, etc.  Ensure all children are picked up before leaving post.

Additional Opportunities – Assistance may be needed in other areas on an as-needed/requested basis including but not limited to:  costuming, sound/lighting, set creation and strike. etc.  Anyone interested in these types of opportunities should contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

Backstage Parent/Child Wranglers must be able to report to Music Mountain Theatre 30 minutes prior to call-time and must remain backstage with the children until all are picked up after the performance.

Because our volunteers are crucial to the successful and organized operation of the theatre, we count on you to report when scheduled and to be on time.   If you are unable to help when scheduled, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at least 24 hours in advance of your shift to allow us time to find a replacement.  Those who do not provide advance notice of a cancellation, arrive late without notice or are habitually late are subject to removal from our volunteer roles.
