Employment

We will be hiring for the following positions to begin our season:  Stage Manager, Children's Theatre Coordinator, Technical Director, Box Office Manager, Theatre School Manager and Public Relations Director.  Descriptions and requirements are listed below.  To apply, submit your resume and cover note indicating what position you are applying for to Employment@MusicMountainTheatre.org.  Applications for Public Relations and Children's Theatre will be accepted  until June 7, 2017.  Applications for all remaining positions will continue to be accepted until July 7.

Public Relations Director
The Public Relations Director  at Music Mountain Theatre is a part-time position, working approximately 24 hours/week Monday through Friday (exact days and hours negotiable).  Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: responsibility for all aspects of publicity and advertising for the Music Mountain Theatre and Theatre School, as well as the sale of advertisements.  The PR Coordinator will manage publicity of individual shows, upcoming seasons, season tickets and maintain the MMT website, ensuring it is always accurate, up-to-date, and user friendly.  He or she must create and maintain an active social media presence for MMT.  This includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and keeping up with new media as it becomes available/popular.  The PR Director will promote and manage advertisement  sales for the programs and create and order the programs for all shows (including coordination of pictures/bios).  The position will work with the local community to create an amicable and mutually beneficial working relationship and also ensure that MMT is represented in all local events.  He or she must see each show (in final rehearsals or production) in order to be able to represent our product to the public.  The PR Director will also coordinate and promote opening night press party and special events.  He or she must be proficient in performing all box office duties, such as ticket sales, group sales, and season tickets/memberships and may manage an intern.

Experience and Qualifications:
•Experience working in advertising or public relations
•Background in computers/digital media
•Proficient in all current forms of social media
•Experience performing or working in a theatre is preferred
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Children's Theatre Coordinator
The Children's Theatre Coordinator  at Music Mountain Theatre is a full-time position.  Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: attending auditions and having input into CT show casting along with Artistic Directors, directing at least 8 of the 15 children's theatre shows each year, including direction, choreography, costuming, and props (note that direction of some shows may be subcontracted out, with approval of the Artistic Director/CEO), setting and communicating all rehearsal schedules and call times to both children and parents, and operating within the allocated budget for the production of Children's Theatre.  The CT Coordinator will also make recommendations (both for and against) casting of children in mainstage productions. He or she will coordinate with the Stage Manager on use of the mainstage set for Children's Theatre, and will also be responsible for maintaining the sets and costumes in use.  The CT Coordinator will work with the Music Mountain Theatre Volunteer Coordinator to ensure volunteer coverage at all children's theatre shows, and may also be responsible for the training and oversight of Children's Theatre interns. 

Experience and Qualifications:
•Must have experience performing or working in theatre, as well as experience working with children and/or coordinating children’s programs. 
•Children’s Theatre experience is desired.
•Must have and maintain state clearance and clearance to work with children
•Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively with both children and parents
•Ability to resolve conflict
•Excellent organizational skills

Technical Director
The Technical Director at Music Mountain Theatre is a part-time position.  Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: overseeing and/or performing execution of the sounds and lights for all MMT performances and special events (note that elements of the work, including sound, lights, and spotlight execution for certain productions may be subcontracted out with approval of Artistic Director).  The Technical Director will design lighting plans, attend production meetings with director in order to ensure that technical elements of the show are aligned with the vision, run a cue-to-cue rehearsal for each MMT mainstage production, and be present for tech/dress rehearsals as well as opening night.  In addition to working on MMT productions, the Technical Director will also execute and/or oversee technical elements of rental performances.  He or she will perform routine maintenance and upkeep of lighting and sound equipment, and may be responsible for the training and oversight of technical interns.


Experience and Qualifications:
•Must be highly proficient in lighting and sound design
•Able to use and maintain all equipment
•Physical requirements:  must be comfortable working at heights of up to 25 feet and lifting weights of up to 50 lbs
•Leadership and problem solving skills
•Ability to stay focused on work for long periods of time

Stage Manager (Mainstage and Children's Theatre)
The Stage Manager at Music Mountain Theatre is a full-time position.  Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Being present for all shows, run-thrus, and dress/tech rehearsals, attending at least one rehearsal before tech week and being present for all tech week activities, and assisting with set construction, load in, load out, and props.  The Stage Manager will also act as Company Manager for each production: maintaining contact information for all cast members, tracking conflicts, managing schedules, and taking attendance.  He or she will be responsible for the maintenance of production quality and continuity during the run including, but not limited to: show laundry, set upkeep, artistic integrity and scheduling and running Put-In rehearsals as necessary. 

Experience and Qualifications:
•Prior Stage Management experience is required
•Excellent organizational and project management skills
•Technical theatre experience (carpentry, lighting, etc.) is desirable
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Box Office Manager
The Box Office Manager at Music Mountain Theatre is a part-time position, working primarily on weekends (Friday - Sunday).  Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: running the Music Mountain Theatre box office, both in-person and online including being present 1 hour before all performances (including rentals) and staying until the end of intermission to open and run the box office.  The Box Office Manager will run the box office during regularly scheduled hours on weekends, monitor and administer online ticket sales, coordinate group sales, and coordinate and manage season ticket/membership sales.  He or she must see each show during dress rehearsal in order to be able to answer questions that customers may ask, and may also oversee interns and/or Box Office Sales Representatives.

Experience and Qualifications:
•Prior experience working in or running a box office is preferred
•Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
•Must be technically proficient with computers

Theatre School Manager
The Theatre School Manager is a part-time position, working Monday through Wednesday. Hours will begin 30 minutes prior to the start of all MMT Theatre School classes, and continue until classes end and all students have left the building. Duties include, but are not limited to: acting as the receptionist and office manager for the Theatre School at Music Mountain Theatre as well as performing routine maintenance and cleaning on a daily basis to ensure the school areas are clean and functioning for the staff and students. In collaboration with the MMT PR Director, he or she will be responsible for Theatre School Public Relations, including Social Media, and will work closely with the Box Office Manager and staff, performing Box Office duties as necessary. The Theatre School Manager will be responsible for coordinating billing and communication for the school. He or she must have and maintain appropriate clearances to work with children.

Experience and Qualifications:
•Experience as a receptionist or office manager is desired
•Knowledge of the operation of a school, pre-school, or small business
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Excellent organizational skills
•Customer service orientation
•Ability to resolve conflict
